Description: Cropped Colibrí Kené vest collection features hand-embroidered multi-colored hummingbird and kené geometric patterns unique to the artisan. The hummingbird is representative of the hummingbirds in the Peruvian Amazon and the symbolic significance is with opening the heart. Kené in the Shipibo language refers to the design system of the Shipibo-Konibo people. Kené art is the design of lines systems and geometric patterns made by indigenous women of the Shipibo-Conibo. They are the healing visions of the Shipibo-Konibo when they consume ayahuasca. The Kené are sung when the women go across the lines with the finger over the embroidery expressing the emotions that they reflect. For the Shipibo, the embroidery are illustrations of the underlying vibrational make-up. The cropped embroidered top can be worn as an accent piece for swimwear, bandeau tops, or dresses.
