Kene Kaya was one of five designers selected by Everlast for their first-ever Emerging Designer Capsule Competition, a global initiative to collaborate with rising design talent. Through this program, Kene Kaya partnered with Everlast, the iconic athletic brand founded in 1910, to co-create a capsule collection merging the brand’s century-long heritage in boxing and athletic performance with contemporary cultural design.

When the psychedelic cumbia pioneers Los Mirlos took the stage at Coachella this past year, their performance was more than a musical moment—it was a cultural statement. Representing Peru on one of the world’s most influential festival stages, the legendary band fused their hypnotic Amazonian rhythms with a striking visual identity created in collaboration with our brand Kene Kaya, turning their set into a celebration of heritage, artistry, and continuity.
Kené Kaya named finalist for DESIGNER OF THE YEAR for Premios Luces 2026
Designer and founder of Kené Kaya, Alessandra Durand has been nominated as a finalist for the Designer of the Year category in Fashion for Premios Luces 2026, one of Peru’s most respected cultural awards presented annually by El Comercio. Now in its 21st edition, the awards recognize excellence across television, film, performing arts, music, fashion, literature, and digital media — honoring creators whose work has meaningfully shaped Peru’s cultural landscape over the past year.
Finalists are selected through an editorial curatorial process led by the Luces cultural desk of El Comercio, which tracks and evaluates the country’s artistic and creative output throughout the year. More than a trophy, the Premios Luces serve as a national acknowledgment of artists contributing to the evolution of contemporary Peruvian culture.
Being recognized in the fashion category places Kené Kaya among designers influencing the direction of Peruvian creative expression — highlighting work that bridges craftsmanship, cultural identity, and modern design.
